What is foot reflexology?
Foot reflexology – often also called foot reflexology massage – is based on the principle that the whole body is reflected in the feet. Every organ, every muscle and every bodily function is assigned a zone on the foot: the toes to the head and sensory organs, the heel to the lower back.
I work through these zones with my hands using gentle to firm pressure. The origins of the method go back a long way; in its current form it has been practised since the early 20th century.
It is suitable as a standalone treatment as well as a complement to another form of therapy.
“When you touch something with great mindfulness, you touch everything.”

You don’t recognise yourself here? Then perhaps kinesiology is a better fit if you want to get to the root of a cause, or hypnotherapy if a pattern is proving stubborn – often the methods complement each other. We’ll clarify that in conversation; you don’t have to decide beforehand.
How a Session Works
-
01Brief conversationapprox. 10 minutesWe clarify how you are and what I should pay particular attention to. For the first appointment we take a little more time for this.
-
02Treatmentapprox. 40 minutesYou lie comfortably, only your feet are uncovered. I work through the reflex zones systematically and adjust the pressure continuously based on your feedback.
-
03Restapprox. 10 minutesYou remain lying down for a moment and settle in quietly. Afterwards we briefly discuss what I noticed.
When treatment is not suitable
I do not treat in cases of thrombosis, acute inflammation, fever, or open wounds or fungal infections on the foot. During pregnancy and with existing conditions we discuss this beforehand. Please tell me this when booking your appointment – then we’ll find a suitable time or another method.

Client Experiences
Our pediatrician recommended kinesiology to us because our son picks at and chews his fingers. Monia was recommended to us, so we sought her out, even though we live in Wädenswil. Initially, we were a bit skeptical because it's an alternative method – but our enthusiasm afterward was all the greater!
I am touched! You combine sensitivity and expertise in a professional manner. I felt well cared for from the very first moment.
I particularly appreciate her approach of working through body awareness. Because often we understand life's challenges on an intellectual level – but something entirely different continues to work within the body. Monia has helped me multiple times to break free from such internal spirals and give my life a coherent direction again.
Monia works very empathetically and professionally at the same time. She takes her time, truly listens, and precisely addresses the points that help me progress. Her sessions are enriching for me every time.
Kinesiology was new to me at first, but in the initial two-hour session, Monia Herzog not only managed to convince me of this therapy form, but she even inspired me with it!
I have come to know Monia as very empathetic and extremely professional! I felt a sense of relief after just the first session. It is clear to me that I would gladly go back to her.
Is foot reflexology right for you?
This is best clarified in a conversation. Briefly describe your concern to me – I will tell you honestly if I can help.
Frequently asked questions & answers
Questions I’m often asked
No – even though the treatment is very relaxing. With a wellness massage the focus is on wellbeing in the moment. Here I work specifically with the reflex zones and tailor the treatment to your concern. The difference shows in the initial conversation and in what I pay attention to when working through the zones.
Individual zones can be sensitive – that's normal and gives me an indication. It should never be painful. Tell me at any time if the pressure is too strong; I'll adjust it immediately.
No. You remain dressed and lie comfortably on the treatment table. Only shoes and socks come off.
Most people feel pleasantly relaxed, some also a little tired. Plan the rest of the day quietly if you can arrange it.
I do not treat in cases of thrombosis, acute inflammation, fever, or open wounds or fungal infections on the foot. During pregnancy and with existing conditions we discuss this beforehand. Feel free to get in touch anyway – often we find another way.
Foot reflexology massage is a complementary therapeutic method. Its effectiveness is not conclusively proven scientifically, and I do not promise you a cure. As a treatment that promotes relaxation and feels good, many of my clients value it.
